In addition to sports events, Lander's Center is used to host concerts, circuses and many other events. Mid-South Fair start to be held at the arena since 2009 before it used to be held at the Memphis Fairgrounds. During the hockey season, the ice rink is used to provide learn for skaters. The TNA Slammiversary was hosted at the arena in June 2008.
The arena used to be called the DeSoto Civic Center, and the naming rights were purchased by the Auto Group Lander's based in Memphis in December 2011, thus the arena was named after the group. The Lander's Center is to keep the purpose of the DCC. In addition to shows and sporting events, the center provides a variety of entertainment services.
For over a decade, the arena has been a hub for great events that range from ice skating to basketball and from boxing matches to concerts of big artists. A number of shows and big names appeared at the arena including for instance comedians Katt Williams, Jeff Dunham and many others. A number of sports teams have played at the arena especially ice hokcey teams such as Columbus Cottonmouths, Fayetteville FireAntz, Huntsville Havoc, and many others.
